Wednesday, December 5
Hartt Celebrates Edward Diemente @ 90
Foot in the Door, Hartt’s contemporary music ensemble, celebrates the 90th birthday of Professor Emeritus Edward Diemente, composer and professor at The Hartt School for more than forty years. Three of his works will be presented including The Way to Peace, Diary, and More Words. Music by two of his former students and current Hartt faculty members, David Macbride and Ken Steen also will be performed. Come help celebrate this most auspicious occasion.

Honk
Honk! is the musical adaption of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Ugly Duckling and follows Ugly, and odd looking duck on his quest to find his mother. With book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe and music by George Stiles, Honk! is sure to entertain.

Hartt Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band
This concert features the return of Hartt alumnus Jess Turner as a composer in residence. The Hartt Wind Ensemble premieres his latest large-scale work for solo tuba and wind ensemble called “Heavy Weather, Concerto for Tuba and Wind Ensemble.” Featuring Hartt tuba professor Scott Mendoker, this is a terrific night of new music written by a rising star and alum of The Hartt School.
