America's Got Talent Dance Act 'iLuminate' Comes to The Duke on 42nd Street, 11/23-1/5

Just in time for the holidays, iLuminate, the sensational dance-in-the-dark act that fuses performance with technology to literally glow in the dark, and earned a third-place finish on season six of "America's Got Talent," will debut a live show in New York City at The Duke on 42nd Street, a NEW 42ND STREET project on West 42nd Street. The limited run engagement commences November 23, 2012 and runs through January 5, 2013.

The iLuminate Production Company, which just completed two summer-long engagements at Atlanta and Dallas Six Flags theme parks, staged the most successful shows the parks ever presented, with standing ovations and unprecedented lines for seats, for each of the three shows per day at both parks.

Additionally, since their appearance on AGT, iLuminate has traveled the world both for performances and technology rentals, performing for audiences in South Africa, Australia, Canada, China, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Egypt, Spain, Holland, and the UK.

"We’re always trying to raise the bar when we perform. From new costumes and aerial stunts, to phenomenal special effects and a brand new storyline, we plan on blowing New York audiences out the door! I grew up here so I’m thrilled we are performing in the city where the magic started,” said Miral Kotb, iLuminate founder, creative director and software engineer.

In 2009, Kotb combined her passion for dance and computers to create iLuminate, the entertainment company that combines state-of-the-art technology with exhilarating dancers who perform in the dark to create a fantastical mashup of illuminated characters, choreography, music, sets and special effects that flood the senses with spectacular visuals and artistic thrills.

Kotb has programmed iLuminate's patent-pending technology for international DJ David Guetta, Grammy-nominee Death Cab for Cutie, and Grammy-winning superstars Chris Brown, Christina Aguilera and The Black Eyed Peas. The technology has also been featured on such shows as Dancing With The Stars, the American Music Awards, MTV’s Video Music Awards, the TeenNick Halo Awards, the Latin Billboard Awards, Mira Quien Bailia, and the BET Awards, among others.

Founded in 1990, The New 42nd Street is an independent, nonprofit organization charged with long-term responsibility for seven historic theaters on 42nd Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. In addition to running The New Victory Theater, The New 42nd Street built and operates the NEW 42ND STREET® Studios-a ten-story building of rehearsal studios, offices and a 200-seat theater named The Duke on 42nd Street-for national and international performing arts companies. The Duke on 42nd Street is an intimate 200-seat black box theater built and operated by The New 42nd Street. Companies that have presented at The Duke on 42nd Street theater include: Theatre for a New Audience; Playwrights Horizons; Lincoln Center Great Performers; Transport Group Theatre Company; The NYC Tap Festival; and 92nd Street Y’s Harkness Dance Project. In October 2008, Lincoln Center Theater launched “LCT3” at The Duke on 42nd Street. In 2012, the American premiere of The Royal Court Theatre’s Olivier Award-winning play, Cock, was presented by Stuart Thompson, Jean Doumanian and The Royal Court Theatre.
