Dixon Place presents the music of GREENCARD WEDDING, featuring special guest David Anzuelo and la Lucha Arts Group production of PORNING THE PLANET The De-Sensitization of a Nation, A Works in Progress Solo Showing, written/performed by Raquel Almazan and directed by Penny Arcade on Saturday, December 8th at 7:30 PM. Dixon Place is located at 161A Chyrstie Street. Lounge bar is open before and after the show.

Greencard Wedding (Jody Christopherson and Michael de Roos) is an indie folk beatbox rock duo from Omaha Nebraska and Lieden, Netherlands based in Brooklyn, NY. The band plays all original music in Dutch (with English subtitles) and in English (no subtitles). All performances include Wedding Cake wrapped in free downloads, as well as other wedding party favors such a garters, bubbles and a set list t-shirt worn by one lucky audience member.

Porning the Planet melds Japanese Butoh dance and narrative performance through a multimedia experience to explore how our virtual world interacts with our “real world.” Conceived from contributed real life interviews, recordings and blog based pornography, Porning the Planet challenges our notion of how pornography has altered our methods of how we communicate and connect with each other and our own consciousness – our creation of a“De-Sensitized Nation.”

Tickets are FREE for the 7:30 PM performance of Greencard Wedding. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, and $10 for students and seniors for the 10:00 PM performance of Porning the Planet. For info and tickets visit www.dixonplace.org. The Dixon Place Lounge is open before, during and after the show. Proceeds directly support Dixon Place’s artists and mission.
