On Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., costumed dancers from Houston Ballet's production of The Nutcracker will make a special visit to Texas Children's Cancer Center. This holiday season Houston Ballet will present thirty-seven performances of The Nutcracker at the Wortham Theater Center, and the dancers want to bring the magic of the performance to children who may not have the opportunity to see the production. Houston Ballet principal Sara Webb, principal Melody Mennite, first soloist Kelly Myernick, and corps de ballet members Katelyn May, Aria Alekzander, and Aaron Sharratt will participate in this event.
Each year, dancers from Houston Ballet bring the magic of The Nutcracker to children at Texas Children's Cancer Center. Houston Ballet dancers enjoy visiting the children at other points during the year as well. These visits are part of Houston Ballet's community outreach program. Houston Ballet will perform The Nutcracker from Nov. 23 through Dec. 30 at Wortham Theater Center in downtown Houston.
Houston Ballet's performances of The Nutcracker continue through Dec. 30, 2012. For tickets call 713 227 2787 or 1 800 828 ARTS. Tickets are also available at www.houstonballet.org, Houston Ballet Box Office at Wortham Theater Center and all Ticketmaster outlets at Fiesta and select H-E-B stores.
