Justin Boccitto and The Group Theatre Too Seek Choreographers for Canvas in 2013; Deadline 12/15

Justin Boccitto and The Group Theatre Too are currently seeking choreographers for the annual Choreographer's Canvas taking place on May 18th of 2013 at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center. Now it's sixth year, the Canvas is a showcase opportunity for choreographers to present their work in an Off-Broadway venue in Manhattan. All styles of dance will be considered and featured in the Canvas including but not limited to tap, jazz, theatre dance, contemporary, hip-hop, modern, ballet, lyrical, aerial, flamenco, Bollywood, etc.
Last year Justin Boccitto and Canvas choreographer, Crystal Chapman, worked together to include a special performance paying tribute to Tony Stevens.
Some other Canvas alumni choreographers include: Kate Swan, Tracie Stanfield, Sydney Erik Wright, Bobby Hedglin-Taylor, Jonathan Riedel, Michael Blevins, Michelle Barber, Sue Samuels, Kelly Peters and many more. The Canvas is sponsored by Broadway Dance Center, Capezio, Manhattan Movement and Arts Center and The Society of Directors and Choreographers.
Choreographers should visit www.choreographerscanvas.com to submit their work. There is a $20 non-refundable entry fee but no participation fee once accepted into the Canvas. Choreographers will be selected and announced in January 2013. Submission deadline is December 15th, 2012.
