Nederlands Dans Theater Returns to NY in April

The Joyce Theater Foundation is readying the red carpet to welcome the return of the Nederlands Dans Theater to New York City after an eight-year absence. One of Europe's most celebrated contemporary dance companies, NDT performs at the David H. Koch Theater, April 11 & 12. It will also perform as part of The Joyce's April 10 gala at the Koch.

For its April 11 and 12 Koch performances, the company will present two New York premieres created by NDT's newly appointed Artistic Director Paul Lightfoot in collaboration with its Resident Choreographer Sol León.

The New York engagement is part of NDT's 2013 American tour, which includes dates at the Carolina Performing Arts Center, Chapel Hill, NC; The Music Center, Los Angeles; and Zellerbach Hall at UC Berkeley. Of additional note: As the first contemporary dance company to be part of Pathé Live transmissions, Nederlands Dans Theater will be seen in close to 200 American movie theaters in four different programs, beginning November 25 and continuing through 2013.
