Nimbus Dance Works' NYC Season to Run 2/15-17 at Ailey Citigroup Theater

Nimbus Dance Works presents the company's New York City Season at the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater on February 15-17. Highlighting the run of performances are two major collaborations: first, a new work, Shadow of Sound, commissioned from acclaimed Taiwanese choreographer Huang Yi to be performed by a dual cast of Nimbus company dancers and Taiwanese guest artists. Second, Nimbus partners with the Charles Weidman Dance Foundation to present Weidman's seminal 1936 modern dance work Lynchtown, to be performed alongside a new thematically-linked work, We Acquiesce by Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott with new music to be performed live by Peter James Saleh. Additional works to be performed include Pedro Ruiz's electrifying Danzón (2010) set to a rousing orchestral score by Arturo Marquez and Pott's Scarabs, a work created in 2012 in collaboration with Hong Kong composer Samson Young and New York City visual artist Nicola Lopez.

And please join Nimbus at the Worlds Apart, Worlds Together reception, recognizing the Taipei Cultural Center and the Charles Weidman Dance Foundation, without whose support and parnership this program would not be possible, immediately following the opening night performance, February 15th. Wine, light hors d'oeuvres, & live music.

Performances take place at the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street, NYC: Friday, 2/15; 7:30pm (followed by Worlds Apart, Worlds Together Reception); Saturday, 2/16; 7:30pm; and Sunday, 2/17; 2pm (Artist talk-back following performance).

Tickets: Performance: $10-$25; Worlds Apart, Worlds Together Reception: $65 - $150. For New York season tickets, click HERE.
