Tiler Peck, Robert Fairchild & More Join Destiny Rising Benefit

Destiny Rising, the gala dance performance to benefit NYC Dance Alliance Foundation's College Scholarship Program promises to be an even more dazzling evening with the addition of a number of special guests recently announced by NYCDAF Executive Director Joe Lanteri who will direct the performance on January 16 at The Joyce Theater.

Among the many highlights of the evening will be the performance by NYCDA alumni New York City Ballet'sTiler Peck and Robert Fairchild. As well, Houston Ballet's Melissa Hough & Garrett Smith are also slated to perforM. Hough is an NYCDA alumnus who grew up in with NYCDA.  Hough is a 3x NYCDA National Outstanding Dancer and has also danced for Boston Ballet.  Fellow alumnus Garrett Smith is also a past 2x NYCDA National Outstanding Dancer.

Also eagerly anticipated is a work set for Steps Repertory Ensemble by 2011 Astaire Award Nominee Benoit-Swan Pouffer (nominated for the film Adjustment Bureau), currently Artistic Director of Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet.

The evening directed by Joe Lanteri will also feature choreography by Lauren Adams, Camille A. Brown, Thang Dao, Jason Parsons, Garrett Smith and Guest Performers including Camille A. Brown, STEPS Repertory Ensemble, The Marymount Manhattan Dance Company, University of the Arts DanceEnsemble and special guests Foundation Star Supporters and Plumb Performing Arts of Arizona, as well as, Susan Jaffe, American Ballet TheatreA post performance 'talk back' with the artists is open to all ticket holders.
